2017 GCB/Jaguars 3-Day League – Round 6 Day 1

On Friday 7th October, 2017, round 6 of the GCB/JAGUARS 3-Day League kicked off with a bang as we saw at Port Mourant on the corentyne of Berbice, Upper Corentyne batted first and at the end of the innings was 262 all out off 62 overs. Clinton Pestano slammed 82 off 104 balls before he was bowled by Ershaad Ali, Eon Hooper 50, Balchand Baldeo 38, and Johua Ramsammy 34. Bowling for East Bank, Totaram Bishun 4 for 50, Darshan Persaud and Ershaad Ali both collected 2 wickets for 46 and 62 runs one-to-one. East Bank then went in to bat summing up 129 after 3 wickets in 36 overs Sachin Singh not out on 40 runs thus far.

 

At Bush Lot, Georgetown and Berbice started off their innings with Georgetown batting first rounding up 155 all out in 46.5 overs. Raymond Perez 47 off 59 balls, Ashmead Nedd 23, Sunil Singh 19, and Steven Sankar 15. On West Berbice bowling line up Gudakesh Motie and Ceon Glasgow both collected 4 wickets for 38 and 47 runs each while Derrick Mc Calmon took 1 for 36 runs. West Berbice then replied with the Captain, Shimron Hetmyer producing a brilliant 137 off 131 balls, also Aviskar Sewkarran picked up 17 off 29 balls. West Berbice totaled 226 runs for 8 wickets off 46 overs. On the Georgetown bowling line up, Gajanan Suknanan took 4 for 71, Kellon Carmichael 2 for 38 and Paul Wintz along with Ashmead Nedd picked up a wicket each for 39 and 7 runs respectively.

 

Over at Young Warriors, West Demerara at stumps was 284 for 7 with Tevin Imlach and Richie Looknauth not out on 119 and 16 separately. Akshaya Persaud also whipped up 61, Tagenarine Chanderpaul contributed with 21, and Ronaldo Renee 13.

 

Day two of matches continue 7th October,2017 at the designated locations, also the battle between Essequibo and East Coast commences tomorrow at Tuschen from 9:30 a.m.
