CGI Local Franchise League…Upper Corentyne, Essequibo, West Dem and NA/Canje record wins

The Cricket Guyana Inc. (CGI) Local Franchise League 50-over competition started on Saturday with Upper Corentyne, Essequibo, West Demerara and New Amsterdam/Canje recording wins.

Upper Corentyne defeated East Coast Demerara by two wickets; Essequibo got the better of West Berbice by 43 runs; West Demerara prevailed by four wickets over East Bank Demerara; and New Amsterdam Canje beat Georgetown by five wickets.

At Enmore: Upper Corentyne defeated East Coast Demerara by two wickets. East Coast Demerara 78 all out in 34 overs (Paul Wintz 20, Bhaskar Yadram 16, Ramnarine Chatura 14, Shawn Perreira 3-17, Eon Hooper 2-25, Jonathon Foo 2-18, Bachand Baldeo 2-22).

Upper Corentyne 81-8 in 39.2 overs (Eon Hooper 19*, Sharaz Ramcharran 18, Joshua Ramsammy 17, Gavin Moriah 3-23, Rajindra Naikbaran 2-13, Wintz 2-16).

At Bourda: Essequibo defeated West Berbice by 43 runs. Essequibo 190-9 in 50 overs (Anthony Adams 53, Ricardo Adams 35, Kevon Boodie 31, Ricardo Peters 23, Steffan Adams 3-21, Kevin Jawahir 2-23) West Berbice 145 all out in 45.3 overs (Avishkar Seewkarran 37, Raffael Estraido 30, Royan Fredericks and Ricardo Adams picked up three wickets each, and Anthony Adams 2-19).

At Wales: West Demerara defeated East Bank Demerara by four wickets. East Bank Demerara 178 all out in 41.3 overs (Ershad Ali 38, Bhojnarine Singh 28, Shawn Pooran 25, Stephan Browne 21. Akshaya Persaud 4-35, Mahendra Danraj 2-39) West Demerara 179-6 in 38.3 overs (Akshaya Persaud 74*, Thburaj Ramdass 22, Keemo Paul 22).

At Albion: New Amsterdam Canje beat Georgetown by five wickets. Georgetown 94 all out in 41.2 overs (Kwame Crosse 39, Kemol Savory 14, Travis Blyden 12, Royston Crandon 3-9, Romario Shepherd 3-12, Joemal LaFleur 2-17) New Amsterdam/Canje 95-5 in 17.5 overs (Joemal LaFleur 40, Devon Clements 25, Kellon Carmichael 4-31).
