Regional U-15 2016…..T&T wins title

Trinidad and Tobago’s Under-15 cricketers played unbeaten, winning all their matches outright to totally dominate the West Indies Cricket Board 50-Overs regional tournament which ended on Wednesday in Grenada.

The TT lads swept their five matches and ended with 31.5 points, well ahead of second placed Barbados who were tied with Guyana on 20.8 points, in second spot. Fourth were the Windward Islands (13.5), followed by the Leewards in fifth with 9.9 points. Jamaica (0.3) occupied the cellar position and had the unenviable record of losing every match.

The young Red Force cricketers also snatched the lion’s share of individual awards at stake with fast bowler Jayden Seales adjudged the “Player of the Series” after scoring 131 runs and taking nine wickets.

Sameer Ali emerged the best bowler with a highest tournament aggregate of 11 wickets, including a match haul of five wickets for 17, recorded against Guyana at Tanteen.
