Trinidad and Tobago claimed the Regional Women’s Super50 title after the final against Barbados was abandoned without a ball being bowled yesterday at the Everest Cricket Club ground. The game was called off at 14:00hrs, after the umpires deemed the ground unsuitable for play..

However, based on the competion’s rules, T&T was adjudged the overall winner after they ended the preliminary round with the most points.

The Trinidadians suffered four no-results, but came away with a win in the only game the weather allowed them to complete;that was against Barbados in the first round,to top the standings with 12 points.
Barbados, Guyana, and Jamaica finished on 11 points each, but after securing a better net run rate, the Bajans qualified for yesterday’s final ahead of Guyana and Jamaica.

Windward Islands ended on ten points after all their games were washed out, while the Leeward Islands secured eight points.
The teams will turn their attention to the Twenty20 phase, starting Thursday and will conclude with the grand final on July 25, at the Guyana National Stadium, Providence.
