Trinidad and Tobago rebounded from a middle order batting collapse before clinching an exciting two wicket win over Jamaica to secure top honours in the Twenty20 phase of the Regional Women’s Championship at Providence Stadium on Monday.

T&T slumped to 38 for the loss of four wickets after their bowlers restricted Jamaica to 100 for seven in their 20 overs, but skipper Merissa Aguilleira with a top score of 26 revived the innings enough for her side to scrape through to win with four balls to spare.

Vanessa Watts (2-17) and Shanel Daley (2-13) grabbed two wickets each for the Jamaicans.

Jamaica plunged to 37 for the loss of five wickets after they won the toss and elected to bat however their innings were rescued by middle order batters Tameka Sanford and Chinelle Henry who scored 33 and 35 respectively.

Barbados secured third position in the tournament after a convincing nine wicket win over Windward Islands.

A powerful 81 run stand for the second wicket between opener Kycia Knight and Deandra Dottin ensured victory for the Bajans after Windwards struggled to score and had to settle for fourth position in the tournament.

Pacer Shakera Selman removed Windwards openers Stacy Ann Adams for 11 and Glendeen Turtin for nine, early, after they won the toss and decided to bat.

But Akeira Peters resisted with a top score of 39 while Afy Fletcher scored 25 as Windwards crawled to 98 for three in their 20 overs.

Campbelle, who smashed 70 not out and Toussaint an unbeaten 63, powered the Guyanese to 157 for one after they were sent in by Leewards.

The Leewards were unable to put up any real fight as Plaffiana Millington and Erva Giddings grabbed five wickets between them to bowl out their opponents for 62 in 16.4 overs.
