WI A vs. SL A, 2nd 4-Day Test, 3rd Day…..WI in the driver’s seat

West Indies ‘A’ team is in the driver’s seat at the end of the third day of the second 4-Day Test match against Sri Lanka ‘A’ in Sri Lanka. Chasing 481 for victory, SL reached 36/2 at the end of the third day.

The host were 128/4 going into the third day, 381 runs behind WI first innings of 509/0 declared. Spinner Rakheem Cornwall continued his destruction with the ball as he ran through the batting line up, grabbing 6/91 from 30 overs. With 264 runs lead, WI approached to their second innings was fiery one. They declared at 216/3 from 41 overs. Rajendra Chandrika held the innings with 68 while Shamarh Brooks and Jahmar Hamilton blasted 53 and 56 respectively.

Earlier in WI first innings, Vice-captain Vishaul Singh struck a career-best fifth first-class century 161 from 306 balls and included 16 fours. Jahmar Hamilton missed out on his century when he was run-out for 99. Rajendra Chandrika had retired hurt on 51 but came out back and reached 81 before he was bowled for 84. In SL reply Niroshan Dickwella top-scored with 88 and Captain Dimuth Karunaratne held the innings with 68.

After suffering a massive defeat in the first match, West Indies have rebounded well. But can they finish it?
