WICB/GCB/Scotiabank Kiddy Progression One Cricket… Mentore’s 78 push Hopetown Primary into final of West Berbice District

Kemol Mentore stroked a brilliant unbeaten 78 to push Hopetown Primary into the final of the West Berbice District in the GCB/Scotiabank Kiddy Progression One Cricket.

Hopetown Pirmary defeated Belladrum Primary in the first semifinal by 25 runs. They batted first and amassed 154/3 in their full complement of overs. Mentore’s 78 was the cornerstone of the huge total set by Hopetown Primary as he smashed eight fours and six sixes. Mackordell Walters contributed a blistering 30 which included five fours and one six.

In Belladrum’s reply, Coin Noble struck an unbeaten 41 which included four sixes and Russel Wilson who made 32 decorated with four fours led the chase but in the end the Hopetown Primary’s total proved to be too much as they could only get to 129 before their overs expired.

Meanwhile, in a second round match of the New Amsterdam/Canje District, Rose Hall Primary defeated Sheet Anchor Primary by 55 runs. Rose Hall Primary posted a challenging 145/5 as Vivic Cyril scored an impressive 30 not out.

Sheet Anchor Primary never really challenged the total as they could only reach 90-8 when their allocated 14 overs finished. Parsram Doobay and Farvesh Mohabir had figures of 2/9 and 2/6 respectively to dismiss any hopes of an upset victory.

Today, No.5 Primary and Blairmont Primary will clash in the second semi-final of the West Berbice District at the No. 5 ground. And Redeemer Primary will take on Rama Krishna Primary at the Racquet Centre.
