As round two of matches of the 2018/Hand in Hand Insurance Under-19 Inter County tournament commenced on Saturday 14th April 2018, Essequibo and Select Under-17 started off with Essequibo winning the toss and deciding to bat. Essequibo, in their efforts, tallied up 261 for 7 in 84 overs at stumps.

Vice-Captain, Kurt Lovell had so far top scored with 49 off 64 while Captain, Kevin Christian took to his crease and stood at 45 off 85 balls in the innings. Support was also attained by Orlando Jailall, Mark Ramsammy, Shane Wong and Quintin Sampson who scored 21, 30, 23 and 38 runs respectively. Joshua Jones was not out on 27 as well as Joel Fortune who was only able to attain 5 runs facing 15 balls before the close of play. Bowling for the Select Under-17 team, Marvin Prashad picked up 3 for 74 while Sylvian Williams captured 2 wickets for 41 runs thus far.

On Sunday 15th April, 2018 will witness day two of this match while the match between Demerara and Berbice will commence at Lusignan Community Center Ground from 10 00 hour.
