In Regional Four-Day Competition…
Former national Under-19 fast blower, Raun Johnson, will make his debut as a senior national player when Guyana takes on Barbados in their second round encounter of the Regional Four-Day Competition at the Guyana National Stadium from March 7 – 10, 2014.
The Berbician will replace Ronsford Beaton who injured his side whilst batting in their first round match against Jamaica last week.
After the 2013 Inter-County Four-Day Competition, the 22 years old Johnson was described as impressive by national Selectors. He is six feet five inches in height and is a product of Young Achievers and West Berbice Cricket Association.
The Guyana team reads: Sewnarine Chattergoon, Assad Fudadin, Chanderpaul Hemraj, Narsingh Deonarine, Tagenarine Chanderpaul, Anthony Bramble, Christopher Barnwell (Captain), Amir Khan, Veerasammy Permaul (Vice Captain), Devendra Bishoo, Raun Johnson, Keon Joseph and Vishaul Singh. The Manager is Alvin Johnson and the Coach is Esuan Crandon, while Julian Moore will join the team as the Assistant Coach.
The Match is a day and night encounter which will start at 15:00 hours each day.
