Trinidad and Tobago’s victory over Guyana on Saturday in the third and final round of the West Indies Cricket Board (WICB) Regional Under-19 three-day tournament handed them the title by the narrowest of margins.
TT finished with 37.0 points, ahead of second-placed Leeward Islands who ended on 36.8 points and Jamaica who ended on 36.4 points.
TT won one match and drew two matches, but still copped the title after earning nine batting bonus points during the tournament.
No other team got more than three batting bonus points.
The TT U-19 cricketers will now focus on the 50-over competition which starts later this week.
Thus far TT has won all the WICB youth cricket titles this year – they clinched the U-17 and U-15 titles recently.
