It was a rout at the Bradman Oval in Bowral. Meg Lanning and Ellyse Perry smashed half-centuries to lead Australia Woman to a huge total, after which Perry and Megan Schutt took seven wickets between them to skittle West Indies in 24.5 overs. The home side’s 148-run victory gave them the series 4-0.
West Indies used as many as eight bowlers but were powerless to prevent Lanning and Perry from powering Australia to 275. Lanning struck 12 fours in her 84 off 79 balls, while Perry was unbeaten on 74 off 75 deliveries. Jess Jonassen struck 38 off 25 balls to help provide an aggressive finish to the innings.
The target was always going to challenge West Indies but they started promisingly, reaching 104 for 2 in the 18th over before a spectacular crash. They lost eight wickets for 23 runs, with Schutt and Perry cutting through the middle and lower order. Shakera Selman did not bat for West Indies.
