Team Operations Manager of the Guyana Amazon Warriors, Omar Khan, on Thursday evening presented an autographed cricket bat to the Guyana Cricket Board (GCB) during a simple ceremony in the main pavilion of the world-famous Georgetown Cricket Club, Bourda.
The branded bat bears the signatures of the players who represented the Guyana Amazon Warriors at the just-concluded Hero Caribbean Premier League (CPL), which was won by the Trinidad and Tobago Red Steel over last year’s champions Barbados Tridents last Sunday.
The Amazon Warriors finished in third spot overall, after losing the Eliminator clash against the eventual champions the day before.
Khan, in presenting the bat to GCB Secretary Anand Sanasie, said he was happy to do so, on behalf of the Guyana Amazon Warriors franchise.
Sanasie, a Director of the West Indies Cricket Board, expressed gratitude to Khan and the Amazon Warriors franchise, adding that the bat will occupy a special space in the office of the GCB on Regent Street.
Also present at the simple handing over ceremony was GCB’s Assistant Administrator, Melinda Bishundyal Chaitram.
