A gripping semi-final contest is anticipated when a Berbice Combine team host a Georgetown-Mahaicony team in a Combine Elite League match today, at the Albion Community Centre ground in the GCB/Banks DIH LTD/ Digicel National Secondary School Cricket League.
Both teams are fielding a number of national players. The Berbice Combine team is made up of players from West Berbice, New Amsterdam-Canje and Corentyne. They will be led by National under 17 batsman Steve Deonarine and National under 15 batting sensation Kevlon Anderson as his deputy. The squad also includes National under 15 players Kevin Sinclair, Junior Sinclair and Garfield Benjamin.
The Georgetown-Mahaicony team is made up of players from Georgetown, East Coast Demerara, Mahaica and Mahaicony areas. They will be led by National under 15 spinner Ashmead Nedd who recently returned from a tour of New Zealand with the Trinidad and Tobago under 17 team. He would be well supported by West Indies under 15 selectee Joshua Persaud, National under 15 batsman Kurt Lovell and national pacer Qumar Torrintgton.

It is expected that close proximity schools are likely to send some of their students to witness the match as this is the first Combine Elite match to be played in Berbice. The match will begin 9:30 hours Tuesday 1 March 2016, at the Albion Community Centre Ground.
After the completion of this match a Georgetown-Berbice Combine team will be selected to oppose an Upper Demerara-Essequibo Combine team in the Combine Elite final set for Thursday 3rdMarch 2016 at Georgetown Cricket Club ground.
