Kumar Persaud bowled five miserly overs capturing 4/4 and set up a small target for his team which was comfortably chased down in the Guyana Cricket Board (GCB) inaugural National Secondary School Cricket League (NSSCL) sponsored by Banks DIH’s Coco Cola and Rainforest Water, along with Digicel.
Playing at the Enterprise ground, LBI Secondary won the toss and invited Enterprise to take first strike. They were bowled out for 86 in 23 overs. Navendra Chan scored 28. Also among the wickets for LBI Secondary was Nankumar Krishna who took 2/16.
LBI Secondary lost six wickets in their successful chase. Nandkumar Krishna completed a fine all-round performance with a good 50. Bowling for Enterprise Secondary, Bishaun Khemraj took a hat-trick and finished with figures of 3-14.
At the De Edward ground in Berbice, Belladrum won the toss and elected to take first strike and were shot out for 74 in 18 overs. The chief destroyer was Dishan Phillips who took 3-10 while Dinauth Persaud and Nigel Deodat had two wickets apiece.
Number 8 then raced to 75 in just 6.3 overs without losing a wicket. Dishan Phillips completed an outstanding all-round performance with an unbeaten 45.
The League continues on Monday when Camille Institute’s clashes with Soesdyke Secondary.
