Under-19 World Champion, Shimron Hetmyer came close but yet far from what would have been a sensational century in the third and final 4-Day Test match between West Indies and Sri Lanka ‘A’ teams. However after the third day, Sri Lanka is firmly in control of the match.
Hetmyer 94 was an aggressive and very entertaining one. It came off 93 deliveries and included 17 fours. Shamar Brooks who was 43 overnight went on to make 54 off 100 deliveries.
West Indies was 183/4 at the close of Day two and only managed to reach 243 in 61.1 overs, giving Sri Lanka a lead of 75. At stumps on the third day, the host were 211/5, a lead of 286. Rahkeem Cornwall continues his excellent outing snatching four of the five wickets for 62.
The three-game series is tied 1-1 after the hosts won the opener in Colombo by seven wickets and West Indies pulled of a massive 333-run victory in the second contest in Pallekele.
