Veerasammy Permaul and Javon Searles come into the Guyana Jaguars 13-man squad to replace Rajendra Chandrika and Christopher Barnwell respectively for their matchup against Barbados Pride in the third round of the WICB PCL 4-Day 2015/16.
Chandrika will be joining the West Indies squad for a Test series in Australia and Barnwell suffered a back injury. Permaul, the region’s leading wicket-taker for the past two Tournaments, missed the first and second round matches as he was nursing an ankle injury. He is now fit and ready for action and it is expected that all eyes would be on him. Meanwhile, Searles, the second overseas player from Barbados in the Jaguars lineup, is an all-rounder like Barnwell. He is also fit and ready to take on his countrymen.
Guyana Jaguars comfortably demolished the Windwards and Leewards in their first two matches to top the points table on 35 points. However, the contest against Barbados is expected to be intense as they are second on the table with 25 points and has always been a tough opponent.
The squad reads: Assad Fudadin, Shimron Hetmyer, Leon Johnson (captain), Vishaul Singh (vice-captain), Shivnarine Chanderpaul, Javon Searles, Raymon Reifer, Anthony Bramble, Steven Jacobs, Veerasammy Permaul, Gudakesh Motie, Keon Joseph, and Ronsford Beaton. The Coach is Esuan Crandon, the Manager/Assistant Coach is Rayon Griffith and the Physio is Beverley Nelson.
This match will be played at the Guyana National Stadium, starting on Friday November 20, 2015. Play begins at 9:30 hours on each day.
