With Berbice emerging the winners of the 3-Day format of the 2018 GCB/Hand In Hand Inter-County tournament, on Sunday 22nd April, 2018 we witnessed the commencement of the One-Day format in which Berbice and Select Under-17 were engaged in a reduced 22 overs match over at the Tuschen ground.

Select Under-17 batted first and was all out for 61 in 18.4 overs. Sachin Singh and Gevon Shultz were the only two double figured batmen scoring 28 and 10 respectively. Keith Simpson and Kelvin Umroa each collected 3 wickets for 14 and 1 run respectively. Kevlon Anderson also contributed with 2 wickets.

Berbice, in reply made 67 for 1 in 10.2 overs. Opening batsmen Alex Algoo and Junior Sinclair made 29 and 28 (not out). Javid Karim was not out on 6. Sylvian Williams was the single wicket taker.

Round two of matches took place on Tuesday 24th April, 2018 from 9:00 a.m in which Demerara faced Berbice at Lusignan while Select Under-17 battled Essequibo at Everest.
